Tennessee Nurses Association Endorses 14th District Senate Candidate Eric Stewart
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA) announced today its endorsement of Eric Stewart, D-Belvidere, a candidate in the 14th District Tennessee State Senate race to be decided in the November 4 election.
“The Tennessee Nurses Association is pleased to endorse Eric Stewart. We look forward to working with him on legislation impacting the nursing profession and healthcare in our state,” said Laura Beth Brown, MSN, RN, TNA President. “As TNA works toward its goals of increasing the number of registered nurses in schools, enhancing access to healthcare for all citizens, and improving workforce advocacy for Tennessee’s nurses, TNA will maintain its active participation in the development of health policy as it has done for the past 100 years.”
“I am honored and humbled to have the support of the Tennessee Nurses Association, a group that represents such a vital part of our workforce,” said Stewart. “If elected, I will be an advocate for our nurses and health care workers throughout Tennessee. I know that without them, we could not have healthy communities, and I will make sure that their needs are always addressed.”
Founded in 1905, TNA is the only full-service professional organization for the state’s 72,000 registered nurses. The mission of TNA is to promote and protect the registered nurse and advance the practice of nursing in order to assure a healthier Tennessee.
