Recipe for Growth…..Just Add Water
Our country was founded on the banks of rivers and streams. Why? Because those areas had access to water. As our nation grew, communities expanded into areas that didn’t have the same accessibility to a water supply that was needed to thrive and prosper. Today, communities in Tennessee are still facing challenges with the ability to access an adequate water supply needed for sustainment and progress. We can talk about planting seeds for better jobs, higher wages and economic development but – let’s face it –those seeds need water to grow.
That is why I believe we need to ensure that the families in our district and throughout Tennessee have safe, affordable water to drink and use. It is imperative that we provide an infrastructure for our rural counties to effectively grow and prosper. As your state senator, I will work together with all of our counties to formulate a long-term regional plan that will help provide water to rural areas. This is an important step that I believe is necessary to begin building stronger rural economic growth, industrial development and overall improvement in the quality of life for thousands of Tennesseans.
Dear Mr. Stewart,
Call it Kismet, karma, fate or, destiny that I found this particular page today but I do not think it is mere coincidence.
While at work today, I received a phone call from one of your campaign helpers asking for my support in your election. I usually do not take the time to listen to such calls but this time I did because I have a serious concern and I wanted to know what your stance was on this issue. The caller did not know and directed me to this site.
Imagine my delight when I read, ‘Recipe For Growth…Just Add Water’!
I have always know that ‘fluoride’ has been added to the water supply but not until last month did I learn that it is not fluoride in the water but instead a toxic waste by-product of the phosphate fertilizer manufacturing process. I have done so much research on this that I am convinced that this chemical should not, under any circumstances, be force-fed to any human being - especially without their consent.
I also realize that at this point in time there could be some serious legal liability placed upon any and all municipalities should they be asked to stop the process of adding toxic waste to the water supply, should the EPA, ADA or CDC admit the truth that it is a dangerous substance and not only not fit for human consumption but is at this time regulated by the EPA as toxic waste and not safe for disposal in the environment.
I am aware of several law suits, one presented by Union members of the EPA, who want the EPA to change the acceptable limits of human dosage from 1ppm to 0. While I agree wholeheartedly with this proposal, I feel that it will take too long -if ever- to reach a decision by the courts. I would suggest that a better, more effective and less time consuming tactic would be to oppose adding sodium silicofluoride to any water supply on the grounds that, unlike the other chemicals added to the water for purifying, this chemical falls under the definition of ‘medication’ and that no doctor - let alone a water treatment plant - has the authority or right to mass medicate it’s customers.
As I mentioned, I have been reading a lot of information on this subject, from the manufacturing process to the major distributors in this country and abroad and everything in between…like the use of fluoride on concentration camp prisoners by the Nazis in an attempt to make them complacent and the first human experiments on children in this country in 1945 in Kingston and Newburgh New York, not 20 miles from where I was born in 1957.
The more I read, the angrier I become.
I have called the West Warren - Viola Utility district treatment plant twice and spoke to two different men about this. They both said that have wanted to stop this for years and, in fact, one of the water companies in Warren county has stopped it ‘for financial reasons’. Whatever the reason, it must be stopped.
Do you know that fluoride was (is) used to treat hyper-thyroidism? It reduced the activity of the thyroid.
Do you know, according to one source, that hypo-thyroidism treatment prescriptions in this country are number 5 on the list of most prescribed medications? I know two people in Viola who need thyroid operations and another, the brother of my boss, who is dying from thyroid cancer.
I finished typing a letter just last night stating the facts that I have uncovered about this horrid poisoning of innocent people, condoned by their government. I was at a standstill because I could not decide who to send it to - the newspaper or through the mail to my neighbors of Warren county.
Well, Mr. Stewart my choice is You. I cannot imagine any human being, once made aware of the truth about adding sodium silicofluoride to the water supply, would turn a blind eye to it and do nothing. Will you do something about it?
Will you please save not only myself and my neighbors in Tennessee but, restore safe, clean poison-fee water to every citizen in this country?
Below is a copy of the letter I wrote to my neighbors. I pray that my pleas have not fallen on deaf ears.
Sincerely,
Sandy Stubblefield

Dear Neighbor,
I have always known about ‘fluoride’ being added to our water supply but, just recently become aware of exactly what it is and where it comes from. What is added to our water is not the pharmaceutical grade of fluoride but a toxic waste by-product of the fertilizer industry called ‘sodium silicofluoride’.
Here is a product description of sodium silicofluoride from a distributor:
‘It is colorless hexagonal, odorless and tasteless crystal with relative density 2.679. It is hygroscopic. It is soluble in ether, insoluble in alcohol. The solubility in acid is greater than in water.
It decomposes in alkaline solution and produces sodium fluoride and silicon dioxide. It is decomposed to sodium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride by heating to 300′C. It is noxious!
Usages: It is used as antiseptic in timber industry, hygroscopic agent of acid-resisting concrete, solidifying agent in natural latex products, additive in plating with zinc, nickel, iron and filler in plastic and fluorinating agent in pharmaceuticals and drinking water. It is used to produce insecticide in pesticide industry and sodium fluoride in man-made cryolite.’ (chinachemworld.com)
Here is a list of US suppliers of sodium silicofluoride:
IMC Phosphates Company, IMC-Agrico Phosphates Faustina, Louisiana
Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation Mulberry, Florida
Solvay Fluorides, Inc. Alorton, Illinois
Do you think the Governor of Florida, Mr. Bush, knows the health hazards of sodium silicofluoride?
Here is a description of the collection process:
Fluorosilicic acid is composed of tetrafluorosiliciate gas and other species of fluorine gases captured in pollution scrubbers and concentrated into a 23% solution during wet process phosphate fertilizer manufacture. Generally, the acid is stored in outdoor cooling ponds before being shipped to US cities to artificially fluoridate drinking water.
Here are 10 reasons why not to add fluoride to water. There are many more.
1) Most western countries do not fluoridate their water and yet their teeth are just as good as those that do. http://www.FluorideAlert.org/who-dmft.htm
2) Many cities that once fluoridated their water in North America have now stopped, including Quebec City in April, 2008. http://www.FluorideAlert.org/communities.htm
3) By adding sodium silicofluoride to the water supply, you are forcing a medicine on ALL the customers and others who happen to ingest it. This is something that a doctor cannot do to ANY citizen. A doctor cannot force an individual to take medicine without their informed consent.
4) This is bad medicine. Water utilities can control the concentration of fluoride added to water but they cannot control the dose people get because they cannot control how much water they drink, and some people drink a lot!
5) Americans now get fluoride from many other sources besides the water — including dental products, processed foods, pesticide residues, teas, and some medications. According to recent surveys, some children swallow more fluoride from toothpaste alone than is recommended as a total daily intake (Levy 1999).
6) Our kids are not deficient in fluoride, they are being over-exposed. 32% of US kids now have dental fluorosis (discoloration and mottling of the enamel caused by excess fluoride ingestion) (CDC, 2005). Poor kids do not need fluoride — they need better access to dental care. That’s where precious taxpayers dollars should go, not paying to put toxic chemicals into the public water supply.
7) The level at which water is fluoridated is not small (1 ppm), it is actually 250 times higher than the level in mothers milk (0.004 ppm). On November 9, 2006 the American Dental Association advised that parents bottle–feeding their babies should not use fluoridated water. How are families of low income going to get a source of non-fluoridated water for this purpose?
9) Fluoride is NOT a nutrient. It works from the outside of the tooth not from inside the body (CDC, 1999, 2001). There is no reason to swallow fluoride. It makes more sense to brush with fluoridated toothpaste and spit it out. This maximizes the benefits but minimizes the risks.
10) The chemicals used to fluoridate are not pharmaceutical grade — as is the case with dental products — but are industrial waste products obtained from the wet scrubbers of the phosphate fertilizer industry. They cannot dump this stuff into the sea by international law but we allow them to put it into our water! Dilution is not the answer to pollution.
Please go to http://www.FluorideAlert.org and find out why over 1,700 scientific, medical, and environmental professionals are calling for an end to fluoridation worldwide. This list includes a Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, three members of the National Research Council (NRC) panel which reviewed the toxicity of fluoride in a ground breaking study in 2006, and three executive board members of the Union representing professionals at the US Environmental Protection Agency.
If you are disturbed by this information – good, you should be!
If you would like more information and would like put an end to toxic waste being added to our drinking water, please contact me. There is strength in numbers and together we can do something about this.
Mr. Stewart, does your support for the peoples’ access to clean water mean that, if elected, you will support efforts to put an end to mountaintop removal coal mining (or crossridge mining, as it is sometimes called) in Tennessee? This mining process destroys the watersheds that bring water to all Tennesseans, rural and urban alike. It also endangers the outdoor recreational opportunities that depend on clean water - not just fishing, but also hunting. Thank you for your response.
