STEWART TOURS MARION COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK
WHITWELL, Tenn. – Yesterday, Congressional candidate Eric Stewart met with veterans and military family members at the Marion County Veterans Memorial in the Fourth Congressional District.
Stewart toured the memorial, which was established in 2008 by the Tennessee Veterans of America to pay tribute to veterans, living and deceased, who hail from Marion County.
"The volunteers who protect our country overseas sometimes come back home without they support they need and deserve,” said Stewart. “These brave men and women have earned the right to good health care and benefits. They deserve a Congress – and a Congressman – who will fight for them."
Following the tour, Stewart fielded questions from veterans about Medicare and Medicaid cuts, defense spending, and veterans’ benefits.
"My opponent has voted against veterans numerous times, which is unacceptable,” continued Stewart. “While we need to cut government spending and reduce our debt, we can’t do it on the backs of the men, women, and military families who have sacrificed to keep America strong."
