Budget/Fiscal Responsibility

Our federal deficit is out of control and we must reign in our spending. We had a balanced budget under Bill Clinton in the 90s, and even created a surplus. Our country must be calculated and thoughtful and we must set benchmarks to reduce our massive deficit. In order to get our budget under control, we must enact a bipartisan effort that takes the best ideas from both sides of the aisle.

You can't have a vibrant economy without a vibrant middle class. It's time we started expanding opportunities for Americans to get jobs and stopped shrinking the middle class by shipping jobs overseas. Rebuilding the middle class and putting people back to work is a priority of this campaign. It's time we see the words "Made in America" again.

One of the most stable and dependable safety nets in America is currently under fire by those who want to gamble the benefits of our seniors, widows, children, and disabled. I do not believe that Wall Street has the best interest of those of us who are counting on Social Security to be there for us as promised almost 75 years ago.

We owe an immeasurable debt to our veterans. We also made several promises as a country to our men & women in uniform and they should be kept. Whether it is through healthcare, retirement, or education, we should NEVER go back on our obligation to these patriots.
